Our History

A&L Get Active on Rosser Avenue has original business roots dating all the way back to 1936, making it one of downtown Brandon's oldest consecutive running businesses. Trusted in the community, we are a family run business that goes the extra mile to make sure customers are satisfied. We offer 30 day "test drives" on most of our products, and a unique "half-back trade in" on products less than two years old for growing children.

Originally "Lacey's Bicycle and Repair Shop" in 1936, it was taken over by two gentlemen named Alec & Larry, becoming "A&L Cycle". We, the Wirch family took over in 1982 and currently run the store, renaming it "A&L Get Active" in 1999 to reflect our changing product line and introduce the store to a broader customer base.

Bicycles, skis, snowboards, running shoes, fitness equipment and athletic clothing are our bread and butter. We endeavor to provide friendly professional service at competitve prices. When you are ready to get active, we are ready to help.
